Corflute election posters have been banned on public land in South Australia since early 2024. While voters are happy to see the back of them, the state's electoral commission says it impacted some voters awareness that a by-election was taking place last year. Despite the concerns it didn't impact the most recent federal election, where voter turnout in South Australia actually increased.

In an advertising tender released for the 2026 state election, the Electoral Commission of SA listed the corflute ban as one of seven "challenges" it faces at the next state poll. Political party corflutes were banned on public roads, trees and Stobie poles in South Australia in 2024. The SA government says it had received "overwhelmingly positive feedback" about the corflute ban.

The South Australian Greens have hit back at former party co-leader Tammy Franks, a day after the upper house MP walked out on the party, labelling her comments "deeply regrettable and inappropriate". A day after Greens internal tensions exploded into public view with Ms Franks's resignation, the party said its investigation into complaints against her found she had "engaged in misconduct". Ms Franks denies any wrongdoing, describing allegations against her as "unsubstantiated and false".

The state government has moved to clarify the ownership of the Whyalla port amid ongoing legal action to wrest control of the facility from former steelworks owner GFG Alliance. Premier Peter Malinauskas today notified parliament that the government would introduce amendments to the Whyalla Steelworks Act 1958, around three months after placing the steelworks into administration. Mr Malinauskas said maintaining access to the port of Whyalla was "essential for the Whyalla steelworks' operations".

South Road was once the gateway to Adelaide's car industry, filtering hundreds of manufacturing workers into a sprawling factory in the southern suburbs. But the remnants of that major employment site, which started as a Chrysler factory and was later taken over by Mitsubishi until the latter closed its doors in 2008, are now hard to find.
