In the summer of 1977, the serial killings of "Son of Sam" had New York City on edge, a massive blackout turned the city that never sleeps dark, looters roamed the streets and then Elvis died. Through all the tension and turmoil, a man with an Australian accent roamed a newsroom on South Street in Manhattan in rolled-up shirtsleeves doing what he has been said to love best -- putting out a newspaper. The newspaper was the New York Post (founded by Alexander Hamilton in 1801).
