SEMINOLE, FL — Detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit arrested a Seminole man on one count of possession of child pornography and three counts of possession of videos of sexual activity involving animals, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Their investigation began on Nov. 19 after receiving a tip that child pornography was being accessed and shared online. Detectives identified the suspect as 39-year-old Juan Michael Contreras.

LUTZ, FL — St. Joseph’s Hospital North in Lutz is building an eight-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that will open this summer. The Level II NICU will provide specialized 24/7 care for babies born prematurely, underweight, or with special health needs and requirements such as IVs, respiratory therapy or other therapies, according to a news release from the hospital. The unit will be staffed by neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners and experienced neonatal nurses.
