The Hamas invasion of Israel on October 7, 2023, has been called the bloodiest day for Jews since the Holocaust, “Israel’s 9/11,” and the opening salvo in a larger war. Astute observers have gone further, seeing the invasion and its aftermath—a spontaneous global intifada against Jews around the world—as the harbinger of something deeper and darker.
