    A murder investigation is underway after a woman was kidnapped from her home before a body, believed to be hers, was found in a burning car in Sydney’s south. Police were called to Bankstown about 10.30pm on Thursday to reports a 45-year-old woman had been kidnapped from her home — in front of two young boys known to her — by a group of armed intruders. The group — who had a gun — assaulted an eight-year-old boy with a baseball bat before forcing the woman into an SUV.

Dressed in prison greens, Stephan Wagner, 62, sat quietly and patiently, fiddling with his glasses, as he appeared via video link from prison in Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday.     A Sydney high school teacher accused of sexually abusing two male students has applied to have her bail conditions changed so she can attend a treatment program. Dressed in all black and flanked by her parents, Tayla Brailey, 31, faced Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday, where her lawyer requested her bail conditions be changed. Brailey’s lawyer told the court that the prosecution had agreed to an amendment to her bail conditions which would allow her to attend an outpatient program.

    A toddler who died after being struck by an out-of-control car in Victoria has been remembered as a “bright, beautiful, and joy-filled little girl”. Three-year-old Heidi, was walking with her mother Liesl along a footpath on President Avenue, in Ocean Grove, about 4.50pm on Friday when a car mounted the kerb and hit her. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, Heidi died at the scene.

    A boy who tragically died after allegedly being accidentally shot on a rural property has been remembered as a “cheeky boy”. The nine-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was accidentally shot in the neck on a relative’s farm at Windellama, near Goulburn, at about 11.20am on Sunday. Paramedics rushed to the scene, but despite their best efforts, he could not be saved.
