A man was shot and killed in North Philadelphia on Tuesday night, police said. The shooting happened on the 3400 block of Hope Street at around 8 p.m., according to police. Former Philadelphia Phillies great and World Series champion Pete Rose was removed from MLB's permanently ineligible list Tuesday afternoon, making him eligible for the Baseball Hall of Fame. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred removed Rose, "Shoeless" Joe Jackson and other deceased players from the list. Rose, the MLB's all-time hits leader, died last September at the age of 83. He was banned from the MLB in 1989 for betting on games.

The Sixers drew the No. 3 overall pick Monday night after entering the draft lottery with the fifth-best odds of earning the No. 1 overall pick. The Dallas Mavericks won the lottery and will pick No. 1 overall in this year's draft. They had a 1.8% chance of winning it. Three people and a dog were rescued from a fire in Trenton, New Jersey, that displaced 24 people on Monday, a spokesperson for the city said. The fire happened on Brown Street at around 9:45 a.m. It affected four homes. Minor injuries were reported in the fire, including smoke inhalation, according to the Trenton spokesperson. But the total number of people injured wasn't immediately available. The Red Cross is assisting the people who were displaced by the fire.
