A singular multi-run inning was all Gettysburg needed to defeat Biglerville, 6-3, in the Franklin County American Legion Baseball season opener for both squads on Monday night at Gettysburg High School. Gettysburg (1-0) did almost all of its damage in the bottom of the second when it tallied five of its runs. kAmpFDE:?

Back in the state tournament for the first time since winning the whole thing back in 2010, Bermudian Springs took a 131-mile bus ride to Philadelphia to face the defending PIAA Class 3A state champion in Neumann-Goretti. The Eagles weren’t fazed at all as junior ace Branson Diller was magnificent on the bump in Berm’s 8-1 victory at Richie Ashburn Field at FDR Park on a beautiful Monday afternoon in the City of Brotherly Love. kAms:==6C H6?E 2== D6G6? 7C2>6D 2?5 82G6 FA @?6 F?62C?65 CF?

That road has had twists and turns, with most stops lasting only for a few years. But a few months ago, Anderson made his way home to his alma mater and is now the athletic director at New Oxford High School, having taken over for Doug Wherley, who left the post late last year.

Littlestown managed very few scoring chances in the District 3 Class 3A softball third-place game against Trinity, but the Thunderbolts gave themselves a chance in the top of the seventh when they trailed by two runs. With two outs, Hannah Barthel and Emma Peart each singled to bring the go-ahead run to the plate, but Shamrock righty Landry Murray struck out the next hitter to finish off a 3-1 victory on Tuesday afternoon at Wass Park in Mechanicsburg. kAm%96 H:? 62C?D %C:?:EJ 2 DA@E :?
