PRINCETON, WV (WVNS) – A local commissioner is resigning from one of his roles in Mercer County. The Mercer County Commission had their annual meeting Tuesday afternoon, April 22nd, at the Mercer County Courthouse. There they discussed contracts, resolutions, and oaths of office. It was there where commissioner Greg Puckett announced he would be resigning from the Hatfield McCoy Trail Authority. Resident Jamie Null will be stepping in to fill for the vacancy.

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WVNS) – A big race is happening this weekend with a special guest taking part. Babcock State Park is hosting The Gristmill Grinder half marathon once again tomorrow, Saturday April 18th. Organizers were at ACE Adventure Gear in Fayetteville earlier Friday evening handing out packets to any person participating. But they were not alone – they also had a former Olympian in attendance. Jenny Simpson is a former world champion track runner who also competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
