A day earlier, Picozzi visited St. Jerome Elementary School, the 20th school of 56 in the 5th Senatorial District that he’s visited since taking office in January. Picozzi said he is working on legislation to empower police and neighbors to end homeless encampments and to target predatory wreck chasers who charge high rates to tow vehicles involved in accidents.

Michael J. Crescenz Medal of Honor Rising Sun VFW Post 2819, 6850 Martins Mill Road, last week held its annual Memorial Day ceremony. Steve, Chris and Joe Crescenz represented their brother, a Cardinal Dougherty graduate who was the only Philadelphian to earn the Medal of Honor for his heroics in Vietnam. The event also included a benediction by chaplain Mike Suermann and a performance of the national anthem by Luke Jardel and Michael Molloy.
