Saturday was another home opener that held so much promise. The rain had stopped, the sun had come out, and Toronto FC scored first! Alas, in true TFC fashion, the day was spoiled by a lack of defending and overall lack of effort to play football. Robin Fraser continues to take the positives in his post-game assessments, but Toronto FC suffered another disheartening 2-0 loss away to Cincinnati at TQL stadium on Saturday night. Let’s go behind the numbers. In U.S. dollars, the amount of money given to FC Cincinnati in the Luciano Acosta deal with FC Dallas. Under the new “Cash-for-Player” initiative in MLS, teams can buy players for money without utilizing General Allocation Money (GAM) or other assets.
