As early voting begins Tuesday for the May 3 municipal elections, Dallas County officials say they have worked to ensure there is not a repeat of the ballot debacle that occurred in the fall. It will be the debut of new electronic poll pads used to check in voters, which the Commissioners Court bought in a time crunch to replace those that malfunctioned during the Nov. 5 election. The glitch caused nearly 4,000 people to cast ballots tied to precincts where they did not live.
