Dominic Malone said he "got into a bit of trouble" after leaving the Army, briefly becoming homeless. He said his own struggles help him to relate to students in Gloucester Rugby's educational programme HITZ.

A town's floral clock display has been covered in concrete by the volunteers who were looking after it. Weston-super-Mare's Lions had been maintaining the town's much-loved floral clock for the past 10 years. They said they could not maintain the flowers any longer and decided to make it easier to look after. However, North Somerset Council, who own the land, said they did not give permission for the work on the clock that dates back almost 100 years.

A health centre says its receptionists are resigning due to abuse from patients. Horfield Health Centre in Bristol is struggling to retain public-facing staff who are choosing to leave for better pay and work conditions. According to the 2022 NHS Staff Survey, more than a quarter of employees have experienced abuse at work since 2020. Practice manager Peter Maynard said the "vast majority" of patients are "kind, considerate, pleasant people".

A police dog is retiring after completing his last ever shift for Avon and Somerset Constabulary. During his career, Ronnie helped to catch criminals, found vulnerable people and protected world leaders at the G7 summit in Cornwall in 2021. He was also at Queen Elizabeth II's funeral as part of the security arrangements. But after five and a half years, the dog has put his paws up to enjoy some well-earned rest. Handler PC Dan Kemble said Ronnie had been trained as a general purpose police dog.

A farming contractor, known for his role in a popular television series, is funding a bursary for students. Kaleb Cooper, 24, shot to fame overnight when he appeared in the television show Clarkson's farm. The series follows Jeremy Clarkson as he attempts to run a farm in the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire. Mr Cooper has now launched a £3,000 bursary to help students at attending the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) pursue their career.
