Delsoin said that seeing all of the contributions of Haitians in one location was a surprise.     May 09, 2025 The NAACP Worcester branch is calling for a formal investigation into ICE agents detaining a woman Thursday and Worcester Police Department arresting another woman during the same incident as dozens of neighbors attempted to intervene. Fred Taylor Sr., president of the NAACP Worcester, was one of several Worcester and state leaders to speak on Friday about the incident. Taylor urged transparency about what transpired and promises that it won’t happen again.

    On a rainy day in late April 1965, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood on the Boston Common bandstand and addressed a crowd of 20,000 people who had marched with him from Roxbury. Sixty years later — on a similarly rainy day — thousands gathered at Trinity Church in the Back Bay and marched to Boston Common in commemoration of that monumental event.
