We used quarterly data obtained from IQVIA Multinational Integrated Data Analysis System (IQVIA MIDAS®). IQVIA MIDAS data combine country-level data, healthcare expertise and therapeutic knowledge in 90 + countries to deliver data in globally standardized forms to facilitate multi-country analyses. The database includes the sales of generic and brand products and does not contain individual-level data. Thus, institutional review board approval was not required.

A team from TU Dortmund University recently succeeded in producing a highly durable time crystal that lived millions of times longer than could be shown in previous experiments. By doing so, they have corroborated an extremely interesting phenomenon that Nobel Prize laureate Frank Wilczek postulated around ten years ago and which had already found its way into science fiction movies.

We analyze the effect of subsidies on firm R&D, conditional on firms’ access to external financing during the financial crisis when access to external financing was particularly difficult. Specifically, we determine whether subsidies can mitigate or completely offset the effect of external financing constraints of firms or banks. Financial constraints are considered through (i) firms’ credit ratings, and (ii) the capital reserves of their banks.

AbstractResidual stress is of great importance on the fatigue life of components; nevertheless, most of the simulations of turning operation focus on the first cut and ignore the evolution of residual stress in sequential cutting. The present study aims to explore the surface residual stress profile along the feed direction during longitudinal turning, to understand the impact of sequential cuts on turning-induced residual stress.
