LA JUNTA, Colo. (KRDO) - A couple in La Junta have been charged with child abuse after hospital staff found skull fractures and noted malnourishment in their baby, stemming from a call to police by a concerned neighbor who noticed the injuries. La Junta Police Department (LJPD) arrested 25-year-old Taylor Bolfer and 41-year-old Charles Mcllveen on Monday, after they were called out to the Morning Side Heights apartment complex, just north of downtown, on April 8.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - KRDO13 has now learned the name of the victim in a deadly crash caused by a road-rage dispute on Friday that left I-25 northbound lanes shut down for hours. The incident also left six people seriously injured, three of whom remain in critical condition. Friends of 21-year-old Salvador "Chava" Diaz tell KRDO13 that he was the lone victim of the crash, which was confirmed by the El Paso County Coroner on Monday.

DENVER, Colo. (KRDO) - Governor Jared Polis has signed SB25-003 into law, putting stricter licensing restrictions on semiautomatic weapons in the Centennial State. The law prohibits the purchase or sale of "rapid fire conversion devices, like bump stocks and binary triggers," according to Colorado Senate Democrats. Stricter licensing requirements would apply to semiautomatic rifles or semiautomatic shotguns with detachable magazines, or gas-operated semiautomatic handguns with detachable magazines.

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) - Newly obtained arrest records are shining light on what police are claiming to be a murder that happened on Pueblo's west side, arresting Andrew Martinez for the alleged killing of his older brother. Last Thursday morning, the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) received a report of a dead body in the 1900 block of W. 21st. Street. PPD said responding officers found an unresponsive man on the front porch of a home. He was declared dead by fire and rescue personnel.
