The NYPD reports over 2,200 cases of grand larceny of an auto this year, and over 100 just last week. Bronx residents tell News 12 they've experienced break-ins resulting in broken windows, stolen items and even their cars missing in the morning.

A slashing at a shelter on the Grand Concourse has put two people in the hospital, according to law enforcement officials. News 12 spoke with the wife of one of the victims, Destinee Melendez, who says that it all started with an argument involving another couple. Melendez adds that she noticed her wife was bleeding from her head. Police say that she was taken to the hospital to treat a slash to her head, and another man was taken to the hospital with a slash to the ribcage. "She was leaking blood.

Tenants in New York City could be feeling a lot cooler by this time next year, as a newly proposed bill is requiring that landlords provide air conditioning. Councilmember Lincoln Restler proposed the legislation and other advocates have come to back it. According to Restler’s office, 350 New Yorkers die every year due to heat-related illnesses.

The film aims to tell a fictional take of some of the stories overheard in the Clipper Coffee Shop.
