Multifetal pregnancies pose unique challenges due to increased risks of perinatal and maternal morbidity and mortality compared to singleton pregnancies (The ESHRE Capri Workshop Group, 2000; American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, 2014), particularly in triplet and higher-order pregnancies (Wen et al., 2004; Luke and Brown, 2008; Stone and Kohari, 2015).
