    EDENTON — At 9 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 16 kayakers slipped into the waters off the Queen Ann Creek Park. Using the Hayes Plantation Bridge as their starting point, they began paddling on the first leg of the Peddle, Paddle and Plod annual triathlon. The triathletes had to traverse course of about 20 miles, starting with a two-mile race in their their kayaks. Once off the creek, the participants switched modes to bicycles for another 15 miles and then finish on foot with a 5K run.
