An apartment building was evacuated in Miami Beach after a fire broke out in one of the units on Wednesday morning. Cellphone video taken from outside the apartment shows fire and smoke coming from the unit as the building's fire alarm goes off. Firefighters responded to the unit on the fourth floor of the building located at 5255 Collins Avenue around 4:50 a.m., according to Miami Beach Fire Rescue.

A 14-year-old girl was arrested after social media posts that contained threats against some schools across Broward County, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office. Investigators said the threats were made on Instagram stories over the weekend. One post included a list of targeted schools while other posts contained threats of a school shooting or other violence, according to a BSO news release.

The Miami-Dade Police Department has opened an Internal Affairs investigation after Dolphins star Tyreek Hill was detained by officers near Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday morning, the department's director stated. Hill was detained during a traffic stop just hours before the Miami Dolphins' Week 1 game. One of the officers involved was placed on administrative duties as the investigation continues, according to MDPD Director Stephanie V. Daniels.

Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained by police near Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday morning ahead of the Miami Dolphins' Week 1 game. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told NBC6 that Hill received a ticket for reckless driving while he was going into the stadium. "The most upsetting part is the way that he was treated. On August 22, a woman was pushing her infant son in a stroller while walking her dog in an Aventura neighborhood when police said delivery driver Sarah Naybeth Parra Ovalles, 45, rammed into the mother and knocked the stroller over.

A family's life flashed before their eyes Tuesday morning after their roof started caving in. The partial roof collapse happened at a duplex located at 916 NE 2nd Street in Hallandale Beach, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue. Battalion Chief Michael B. Kane told NBC6 that the collapse was likely triggered by rain. A mother and her six children were living in the unit that was affected the most.

A woman is facing a premeditated murder charge after police said she shot and killed a man inside a Coral Springs home on Saturday afternoon. A boy made the initial 911 call, reporting that a man had been shot at a home in the 10500 block of Northwest 43rd Street around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. When officers arrived, they ordered two minors to exit the home and heard a gunshot before a woman also exited, police said.
