According to Richmond City officials, in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 27, high turbidity — or cloudiness — in the water flowing through the water treatment plant clogged its water filters, which temporarily reduced finished water production.

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — A father remains in disbelief as he mourns the loss of his only son following a tragic incident that left the 2-year-old boy dead. “It just doesn’t feel right,” said Antonio Gaines of Petersburg. “[There] was just so much that me and him had left to do.”According to the Hopewell Police Department, officers were called to the 400 block of South 19th Avenue for a report of a toddler hit by a vehicle on Monday, May 19.

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A 13-year-old boy remains in critical condition after colliding with a vehicle while riding an electric motorcycle in Henrico County. According to the Henrico County Police Division, on Tuesday, May 20, at around 8:57 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Wyndham Park and Dominion Club drives for report of a crash. When they arrived, officers found a 13-year-old boy down in the roadway.

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Six young men have chosen resilience over risk in completing a six-week program geared towards mentoring, training and employment. The YINOC Program was created by two non-profit organizations — Youth Impact and Northside Outreach Center. “Some of these young people have been kicked out of school, they feel like they can’t achieve anything, they feel downtrodden and this opportunity encouraged them,” said Travis Woods, Youth Impact Founder and YINOC program director.
