FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A new chapter in women’s sports is starting right here in the Central Valley. Fuego Femenil, Fresno’s newest semi-pro women’s soccer team, is holding tryouts to find local talent who can take their skills to the next level. On Sunday, about 40 players hit the field for tryouts. For players like Ciara Wilson from Fresno State, this is long overdue. “I think it’s great that there’s this opportunity in the valley to have a chance to have a professional team.

MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Visually impaired since birth, Gia Ward has never let limited sight define her vision for life. She’s a standout student, musician, and role model, showing that challenges don’t have to be obstacles. “I think what’s motivated me is probably just like chasing my passions for music, and even though I’m blind, I could still do anything, you know,” said Ward. Her passion for music motivated her to become a percussionist in the school’s marching band.
