David Greene, who gathered with some of his former UGA football teammates for last week’s ‘Night to Shine’ event, was not surprised that the Bulldogs moved so quickly to hire Mike Bobo as the replacement for Todd Monken as the team’s offensive coordinator. When Greene starred as Georgia’s quarterback in the early 2000s, Bobo was kicking off his coaching career as quarterbacks coach for the Bulldogs. “I certainly knew that Coach Bobo was qualified,” Greene told DawgNation on Tuesday.

If there’s a quarterback to watch in the 40-yard dash, it’s Bennett, who could run a number in the 4.4-second range. Still, one wonders if Bennett might be tempted to dust off the U.S. Postal Service cap he once wore at high school camps to gain attention and build his brand. It was an ingenuous approach back then, even if it didn’t lead to a scholarship offer from a Power 5 school.

One of the all-time great Georgia Bulldogs has announced his retirement, with AJ Green posting a short note to his Instagram announcing that his 12-year NFL career had come to an end. “Special thank you to the University of Georgia, Cincinnati Bengals, and Arizona Cardinals for the opportunity to pursue my dreams,” Green wrote. “I’ve stayed true to the game and it owes me nothing.”

One of Georgia’s top 2022 signees will not be able to practice with the team this spring as he recovers from shoulder surgery. Marvin Jones Jr. is expected to miss all of spring drills after having surgery, according to a report from Jake Rowe of DawgsHQ. Jones signed as a 5-star player in the 2022 signing class. He is expected to take on a larger role for Georgia’s outside linebackers this fall after the Bulldogs saw Nolan Smith and Robert Beal depart for the NFL.

McClendon was asked about another near-accident involving the ambulance that took him to the hospital, and he said “it was just a little bump.”The deadly accident occurred just hours after the Bulldogs’ football program celebrated its 2022 national championship season with an on-campus parade and ceremony at Sanford Stadium. The players were reportedly en route to meet up with other Georgia teammates and program members when the accident occurred at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Jan. 15.
