TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - For many pets, an animal rescue can be a place filled with uncertainty. Some dogs live in perilous conditions, and some finally find freedom. But for others, the fight continues. WCTV has extensively covered two high-profile animal neglect cases involving more than 100 dogs and spanning two counties. In both cases, animal rescue owners are accused of failing to properly care for the pets in their charge.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Friday marked one year to the day since Taylor County native Addison Bethea was attacked by a 9-foot-long shark off Keaton Beach. Her leg had to be amputated above the knee. Since then, she has made tremendous strides in her recovery and is marking many milestones along the way. Bethea told WCTV’s Madison Glaser she was spending the day at the beach and planned on heading out on the boat to mark the occasion.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Flooding dangers along the coast included the Steinhatchee River, where water levels are rising. Neighborhoods are now taking precautions and preparing for the days ahead. Residents in Steinhatchee are on high alert as signs of potential flooding move into the area. People in Cooey Island noted just how quickly the water was moving and how full the river was getting. In some areas, it was already hitting the roadway.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The streets of downtown Tallahassee are expected to fill with artists and live music for this weekend’s 23rd annual LeMoyne Chain of Parks Art Festival. Thousands are expected to flock to the Capital City to attend a weekend full of art and entertainment. Event organizers said they expect to see over 20,000 people come out to the art festival this weekend. Local heritage re-enactments, live music, food and artwork will be on display throughout the weekend.
