COALVILLE, Summit County — A young child has died following an accident while boating with his family at Echo Reservoir on Sunday. At about 4:45 p.m., Walter Greer, 3, of Salt Lake City, fell off the boat and was “struck” by the propeller, said Devan Chavez, spokesman for the Utah Division of State Parks. The boy was wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident.

Estimated read time: Less than a minuteSALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police are investigating a shooting early Sunday that left a 17-year-old boy injured. At around 2:19 a.m., an officer with the Liberty Patrol Division of the Salt Lake City Police Department heard multiple gunshots fired near the area of Wood Avenue (1600 South) and Major Street (50 East), followed by several cars and people dispersing quickly.
