    WICHITA, Kan. (Release) – The Minnesota Twins announced Ramon Borrego has been elevated to the Major League Coaching staff as their first base coach. Borrego has managed the Wind Surge since their inaugural season in 2021, compiling 269 wins over four seasons. He led the Surge to a pair of division titles and back to back League Championship Series appearances in 2021 and 2022. He earned Manager of the Year honors in 2021.

    No major league team can have too many relievers. Last season, the Minnesota Twins had 28 of their 34 pitchers on the active roster come out of the bullpen, up from 24 in 2023. MLB has set its deadline for teams to protect players eligible for the Rule 5 Draft lands on November 19, and the Twins have up to 15 players who could be eligible for teams to select at the Winter Meetings on December 11. Typically, a team only chooses two to three players to add to their 40-man roster to protect them from entering the draft lottery pool.

    WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) —The Wichita Wind Surge ended the regular season on top 4-2 over the Tulsa Drillers at Riverfront Stadium. Wichita combined for 10 hits in the season finale. C.J. Culpepper struck out five batters over as many innings in his final start of the season for the Wind Surge. He kept Tulsa off of the scoreboard with only three hits going against him on the afternoon.
