    By Mark HoskinsFixtures between Bristol and Bath date back to Bristol’s opening season, with the clubs meeting for the first time at the County Ground on October 27th 1888. This was the fourth fixture in Bristol’s history and only their second home game. They had yet to win a match, and Bath won 5-3, although Bristol’s full back ‘Sammy’ Derham had the honour of kicking the club’s first ever successful conversion.
