    Monday marks the fourth straight day of public pushback over federal immigration raids in the Los Angeles area, and protests over the weekend turned violent as the National Guard was called in by President Trump, a move that drew the ire of L.A.     Violent protests over federal immigration raids erupted across the L.A. region over the weekend, and as the week begins and kids go back to school, Los Angeles school officials are looking to ease parents’ concerns over ICE activity on campuses.  All schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District are expected to operate as normal on Monday, the district said. There are just two days left in the school year.

    LOS ANGELES (KTLA) — A heavy military presence was seen in downtown Los Angeles early Sunday morning after unrest sparked by ICE raids in the L.A. area and ahead of what is expected to be a third day of protests. President Donald Trump ordered thousands of National Guard troops to be deployed Saturday night after a raid in Paramount earlier in the day that set off a chain of destructive demonstrations.

    Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department fought a fire at a recycling yard in Los Angeles on Sunday morning. Flames were first reported at the recycling yard, located at 5487 West San Fernando Road in the Atwater Village neighborhood, around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, per LAFD.  The fire originally threatened several compressed natural gas trucks, fire officials said in their first update on the situation.
