Santa Fe 7, Blackwell 6While the Sooner State’s attention was diverted 90 minutes to the south on I-35, the visiting Fuego snapped a pair of streaks behind one of the better pitching performances all season. Starter Renaldito Flores (2-1, 3.79 ERA) allowed just one run on two hits over five innings, helping to snap Santa Fe’s nine-game losing streak. It was also the team’s first win on the road. The FlyCatchers scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth off reliever Willian Suarez.

Barring a shift in the way things are, he won’t get it. The 28-year-old Española Valley graduate is shredding opposing pitching three weeks into the season, ranking first in home runs (15), second in batting (.493) and fourth in runs batted in (39).
