The Golden Knights prospect has 16 points on the year (7 goals, 9 assists), but has netted just four goals over the team's last 26 games. If only he'd shoot the puck more. But like a lot of young forwards aspiring to get to the NHL, there's the complex issue of putting the team first while still trying to establish a certain skill set. "He's gonna have to get stronger, continue to work on his strength, continue to build his game," Silver Knights coach Ryan Craig said.

The 4 Nations Face-Off is setting a standard for other pro leagues to follow during their All-Star weekendsI remember that 20-minute drive from Eden Prairie to the Met Center in 1982 when I was 13 years old, going to see the Minnesota North Stars play. A transplant from Las Vegas, I didn't know ice hockey outside of Mike Bossy and the New York Islanders or Wayne Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers because they were seemingly always splashed across the pages of my Sports Illustrated.

Heavily favored Canada thwarted Sweden's late rally on Wednesday night, opening the Four Nations Face-Off with an exhilarating 4-3 victory. Mitch Marner's goal at 6:06 of overtime helped Canada escape with a win. After a rough 4-8-3 stretch from Jan. 9 through Feb. 4, the Golden Knights take a much-needed two-game win streak into the 4 Nations Faceoff break. The Vegas Golden Knights overcame deficits of 2-0 and 3-1 to earn a 4-3 victory over the Boston Bruins on Sunday. It was their second straight win after a 3-1 win over the Devils in New Jersey on Thursday. It was the first time stringing together consecutive wins since Jan. 2-7, when the Golden Knights won three in a row.
