    Lisa Keegan, vice president for student enrollment, engagement and success at Bucknell University, has been selected as the inaugural vice provost for enrollment strategy at William & Mary. She will start at the university on Aug. 10. As the vice provost for enrollment strategy, Keegan will unify the strategic capabilities of William & Mary admission, financial aid and registrar offices.

    Once a thriving natural environment, Melissa’s Meadow at William & Mary eventually turned into a dormant patch of land in need of some serious restoration. Madeline Oubre, a Williamsburg teenager, recently set out to accomplish just that on her way to becoming an Eagle Scout. Over the past year, Madeline Oubre has worked closely with William & Mary Facilities Management to completely restore the area, named for an alumna and located near the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.

But Assistant Teaching Professor Alan Kennedy took a new approach with his Gun Policy and the Second Amendment seminar: producing research that can be useful to policymakers. Students in Kennedy’s fall 2024 class conducted weeks of research and data analysis on a variety of topics related to gun violence.

    The Eisenmann Medal may not be a household name, but in the world of ornithology, there’s no greater honor. And for the first time, that honor is being brought home to William & Mary. Bryan Watts, research professor and director of the Center for Conservation Biology (CCB), was awarded the prestigious honor at the Linnaean Society of New York in New York City on March 11.
