Coming from 524 churches, 1,267 messengers and 278 guests celebrated all that God has done through Missouri Baptists under the leadership of outgoing executive director John Yeats, and looked forward with hope to all that God will do through Missouri Baptists under the leadership of new executive director Wes Fowler.

TRAVERSE CITY — The first day of school for Traverse City Area Public Schools and other local districts is Tuesday, Sept. 5. It’s a busy time of year for the district, TCAPS Communications Director Ginger Smith said in an email. And it’s a busy time for parents and students getting ready to head back. KINGSLEY — Kingsley Area Schools trustees want Josh Rothwell as their new district superintendent. After interviews Friday with Rothwell and runner-up Bill Chilman, trustees voted unanimously in favor of entering into negotiations with the “local” option — as Rothwell was sometimes referred to. Rothwell is from Kingsley and began his career in the district. He is currently superintendent of Forest Area Community Schools.

Aug. 24—KINGSLEY — Kingsley Area Schools will have a choice to make yet this week between two superintendent candidates — one touting longstanding pre-existing ties to the community, and another claiming the potential to offer a new perspective from outside. Finalists Joshua Rothwell and Bill Chilman, who have more half a century of experience in education, will sit for a second round of interviews with the Kingsley School Board on Friday.
