AbstractUnderstanding the genetic basis of neuro-related proteins is essential for dissecting the molecular basis of human behavioural traits and the disease aetiology of neuropsychiatric disorders. Here the SCALLOP Consortium conducted a genome-wide association meta-analysis of over 12,000 individuals for 184 neuro-related proteins in human plasma. The analysis identified 125 cis-regulatory protein quantitative trait loci (cis-pQTL) and 164 trans-pQTL.

AbstractNuclear lamin B1 (LMNB1) is a member of the nuclear lamin protein family. LMNB1 can maintain and ensure the stability of nuclear structure and influence the process of cell senescence by regulating chromatin distribution, DNA replication and transcription, gene expression, cell cycle, etc.

AbstractGenome-wide association study (GWAS) is a powerful tool to identify genomic loci underlying complex traits. However, the application in natural populations comes with challenges, especially power loss due to population stratification. Here, we introduce a bivariate analysis approach to a GWAS dataset of Arabidopsis thaliana. We demonstrate the efficiency of dual-phenotype analysis to uncover hidden genetic loci masked by population structure via a series of simulations.

1 INTRODUCTION Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a rare and aggressive tumour that arises from the biliary tree and is commonly classified according to its anatomic location1-3: intrahepatic (iCCA), perihilar (pCCA), or distal (dCCA) cholangiocarcinoma according to its anatomic location of origin.4 Perihilar CCA and dCCA account for approximately 80% of all CCAs diagnosed in the USA, while iCCA accounts for the remaining 20%.4 The overall incidence of CCA has increased progressively worldwide over...

Aim Ecological forecasting is critical in understanding of ecological responses to climate change and is increasingly used in climate mitigation plans. The forecasts from correlative models can be challenged by model complexity, training collinearity, collinearity shift and novel conditions of predictors that are common during model extrapolation. The individual effect of these four factors has been investigated, but it is still unclear how these four factors interactively affect forecasting.

Aim Ecological niche modelling (ENM) or species distribution modelling is increasingly used in decision-making regarding land use and biodiversity conservation. Model accuracy is essential, but can be affected by modelling choices, including the critical and ubiquitous question of how to define a model training domain. Theories have suggested designing a training domain based on areas accessible to a species for improved model performance (here termed as species’ mobility hypothesis).
