UNHCR-APLFT partnership supports skilled Sudanese refugees with legal backgrounds to provide vital legal assistance, raise community awareness about Chadian laws and customs, facilitate mediation, and reinforce feedback sharing within the refugee communities. Fathia Adoumassid, a 37-year-old mother of four, is one of the 39 refugees recruited under this initiative. After completing her law studies and passing the bar exam in El Geneina, Fathia became a lawyer eight years ago.

Five years ago, in the university halls, Hachim, a 28-year-old mathematics and physics student, met Ayad, a 21-year-old agriculture student. Their bond quickly blossomed into love, leading to their marriage in 2022. The couple eagerly planned to start a family, but their dreams were shattered in June 2023 when war erupted in El Geneina, forcing them to flee their home. During their escape to Chad, amidst the chaos, Hachim and Ayad were tragically separated. Hachim was shot in the foot by armed men.

AbstractThe role of tumor-resident intracellular microbiota (TRIM) in carcinogenesis has sparked enormous interest. Nevertheless, the impact of TRIM-targeted antibacteria on tumor inhibition and immune regulation in the tumor microenvironment (TME) remains unexplored. Herein, we report long-term relapse-free survival by coordinating antibacteria with antitumor treatment, addressing the aggravated immunosuppression and tumor overgrowth induced by TRIM using breast and prostate cancer models.

The Al Tadamoun primary school stands as a testament to their resilience, offering a beacon of hope amidst the harsh realities of refugee life. In June 2023, the conflict in El Geneina, Sudan, forced 13-year-old Isra and her family to seek refuge in Chad. Along with her parents, a nurse and a bank worker, and her seven siblings, Isra found a new home in the Farchana refugee camp.
