The increasing severity of fungal infections globally and the limited availability of effective treatments necessitate novel therapeutic strategies. In this study, we developed a copper-polyphenol nanocomplexes (CPE NPs) through a one-step synthetic process by the coordination self-assembly of copper sulfate (CuSO4), protocatechuic acid (PA), and ε-Poly-L-lysine (EPL).

A heparan sulfate proteoglycan-mimicking AIE fluorescent probe for SARS-CoV-2 detection A heparan sulfate proteoglycan (HSPG)-mimicking fluorescent probe, tetrasulfonated tetraphenylethene (TPES) with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristic is designed for fast SARS-CoV-2 detection. TPES can adhere to SARS-CoV-2 by the strong interaction between sulfonic acid groups of TPES and the spike proteins of SARS-CoV-2, leading to a significant fluorescent enhancement.
