IntroductionFusion reactor materials produce intense neutron radiation leading to significant activation during the DT plasma operation. For maintenance purposes, some highly activated components should be unmounted and transported shortly after shutdown. The decay photons emitted by radioisotopes generate intense radiation fields, which are referred to as shutdown dose and are harmful to workers and irradiation-sensitive components, such as silicon devices, along the transport path.
