The term "unicorn hunting" refers to the practice of a couple, typically heterosexual, seeking a third partner for a temporary or permanent relationship, often with the intention of engaging in a threesome or starting a polyamorous relationship. The term "unicorn" comes from the idea that finding a suitable third person who is willing to participate can be as rare as finding a mythical unicorn. In unicorn hunting, the couple may specifically seek out a bisexual woman to join their relationship.
