In escalating environmental concerns and global warming, quest for cleaner and reliable energy sources is more critical than ever [1], [2]. This urgency is compounded by the stark reality of depleting fossil fuel reserves, which have long powered the majority of industrial, transportation, and domestic energy needs [3], [4]. This scenario not only exacerbates the effects of climate change, but also highlights the vulnerability of current energy infrastructure to the future energy crises.

AbstractGenetic control strategies are promising solutions for control of pest populations and invasive species. Methods utilizing repeated releases of males such as Sterile Insect Technique (SIT), Release of Insects carrying a Dominant Lethal (RIDL), self-limiting gene drives, and gene disruptors are highly controllable methods, ensuring biosafety. Although models of these strategies have been built, detailed comparisons are lacking, particularly for some of the newer strategies.
