AbstractThis study aimed to develop a deep-learning (DL) based method for three-dimensional (3D) segmentation of the upper urinary tract (UUT), including ureter and renal pelvis, on non-enhanced computed tomography (NECT) scans. A total of 150 NECT scans with normal appearance of the left UUT were chosen for this study. The dataset was divided into training (n = 130) and validation sets (n = 20).

On April 11, the U of T Engineering Career Centre hosted its sixth annual awards reception recognizing excellence in the Professional Experience Year Co-op Program (PEY Co-op) during the 2022–2023 work term. The event highlighted the outstanding contributions of employers, mentors, students and staff who have supported the program’s enduring success. The PEY Co-op program has prepared U of T Engineering students to contribute meaningfully to top global organizations for more than 40 years.

1. IntroductionTornadoes are among the most devastating natural hazards with high wind speeds that cause severe damage to structures [1,2]. According to statistical records, the number of tornadoes per tornado event in the United States exhibited a differential growth at a rate of 2.89% per year from 1954 to 2014 [3]. Additionally, the incidence of tornadoes has increased in countries that are not traditionally prone to tornadoes, such as Japan and China, due to global climate change [4].
