FULTON, Miss. (WTVA) - Firefighters responded to a trailer vehicle near Fulton on Monday afternoon. This happened west of the city along Interstate 22. The fire destroyed the trailer, but it appears the blaze didn't reach the truck pulling it. The Mississippi Highway Patrol reported no injuries. JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) opened 10 centers to help residents who received storm damage during the March 14-15 severe weather outbreak. President Donald Trump recently approved federal funding for storm victims in Covington, Grenada, Issaquena, Itawamba, Jefferson Davis, Leflore, Marion, Montgomery, Pike, Smith and Walthall counties.

BLUE SPRINGS, Miss. (WTVA) - East Union Attendance Center promoted Zane Treadaway as its new head baseball coach. He played high school baseball at East Union and won north-half titles in 2005 and 2007. He later played ball at Northeast Mississippi Community College and Blue Mountain Christian University. He's been an assistant coach at East Union since 2012. He replaces Jamie Russell, who resigned to become an assistant coach with the softball program.

PARCHMAN, Miss. (WTVA) - The state of Mississippi plans to execute a south Mississippi murderer later this month. The state set Richard Jordan's execution date for June 25 at 6 p.m. at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman. A judge sentenced him to death in 1976 for kidnapping and killing a woman in Harrison County, The Associated Press reported. The 79-year-old is the oldest death row inmate and spent the most time on death row: 48 years.
