Former Florida Gators guard Walter Clayton Jr. put his sharpshooting on display at the 2025 NBA Combine on Tuesday. Players competed in shooting drills, and he was among the best performers at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. Clayton turned heads before the drills, hitting 21 3-pointers as he warmed up. He then made 17 of his 25 shots in the three-point star drill, which was tied for the third-best mark.

The weight room isn’t the only place the Gators have made gains this offseason. The Florida football program set two team records for spring semester GPA and cumulative team GPA. The Gators posted a 3.48 spring semester GPA, breaking the previous mark of a 3.37 spring GPA set in 2024.

Florida Gators pitcher Aidan King was named the SEC Freshman of the Week on Monday after his career-best performance in the series-clinching win at No. 1 Texas. It marked the third time this season that King has received a weekly award from the SEC and the seventh time a UF player has earned league honors in 2025. In Sunday’s rubber match against the Longhorns, King earned the decisive victory behind seven shutout, two-hit innings.

UF’s two victories in Austin knocked the Longhorns out of the top spot. GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gators will host the team’s annual homecoming game this season against Mississippi State on Oct. 18, the school announced on Monday. The University of Florida owns a record of 73-26-2 in Homecoming games all-time, including a 31-5 mark since 1989. Last season, the Gators handled Kentucky, 48-20, on Homecoming at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The UF tradition was first celebrated in 1916 and it continues to bring Gator Nation back to Gainesville year after year.
