    Vanderbilt Men’s Basketball guard Jason Edwards was named to the 2024-25 All-SEC Third Team on March 10. Edwards earned the nod after a breakout season that saw him average 16.9 points per game, which led all Commodores. The junior also shot a career-best 43.4% from the field, 35.7% from 3-point range and 84.0% from the free throw line. Joining Edwards on the All-SEC Third Team is Chad Baker-Mazara, Mark Mitchell, Alex Condon, and Sean Pedulla.

    Vanderbilt Young Americans for Freedom hosted Ben Shapiro in Langford Auditorium on Nov. 13 to discuss the future of the United States after the 2024 election, followed by an audience Q&A session. The roughly 1,100-person audience consisted of students, employees of The Daily Wire and community members. In the lecture portion of the event, Shapiro discussed presidential election results, foreign policy and traditional gender roles.

    Vanderbilt announced a new phase of residential colleges at 9 a.m. CDT today. The four new colleges will begin construction in Summer 2025 and finish in time to open for the 2028-29 academic year, starting with the demolition of Branscomb Quadrangle, McTyeire Hall and the University Club — all located in the Central Neighborhood of campus.

    If you follow Vanderbilt sports, you know students’ disappointment whenever football season comes around. The first game of my freshman year, I recall packing into the crowded student section on a scorching August evening to see Vanderbilt play ETSU — an “easy win” that ended in a 23-3 loss and cost us $415,000. Suffice it to say, my passion for Vanderbilt football quickly atrophied into indifference. For three painstakingly long years, I questioned why I should care about college football.

    The Spring 2024 Vanderbilt Poll surveyed 1,003 registered Tennessee voters from April 26 to May 9. With a 3.4% margin of error, the poll found the majority of registered voters in Tennessee to be pro-choice, aligned with gun restriction policies regardless of party affiliation and in support of IVF procedures. Respondents also addressed the 2024 presidential election. The poll found increasing gender gaps between men and women on key policy issues.
