Challenges to NCAA eligibility rules and uncertainty over their future standing have each led to a higher-than-usual number of waivers this spring, prolonging the process for athletes awaiting a ruling from college sports’ governing body. “My understanding is, a ton of waivers have been filed. I think there’s a little bit of a backlog there,” he said.
