NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Storms in the morning usually is a sign better rain chances are ahead. That’s what we’re watching for on your Tuesday as rain coverage jumps a bit higher. There should be a lull in activity for a few hours before lunch ahead of our typical afternoon storms. The coverage of rain today will be around 60% as highs top out in the low 90s. The higher rain chance today goes back down the scale on Wednesday. In fact, most of us probably stay dry and hot for the midweek forecast.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The song of summer rolls on this week as heat, humidity and rain chances play out each day. Today we’ll see highs in the lower 90s with feels like readings in the triple digits. In between the heat and sunshine will be the possibility of a shower or downpour. Rain coverage peaks in the afternoon around 40%. Little day-to-day change in this weather pattern is expected over the next 7 days. If I had to pick a “drier” day, that will most likely be Wednesday.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The heat levels are on the rise as a heat wave takes over much of the United States. We’re going to feel some of that heat today and it’ll continue into the weekend. Highs are set to hit the middle 90s with feels like readings getting as high as 110. That means a Heat Advisory is in effect for the area. The heat is increasing because our rain and storms aren’t firing off early enough.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Rain chances roll on in this pattern as we’re set to see widespread storms this afternoon. Today’s rain coverage will be a healthy 60-70% with some of those storms producing heavy rains, gusty winds and dangerous cloud to ground lightning. Going forward things will transition back to more of a typical summer regime. Rain chances will drop to a spotty 30% allowing the heat levels to rise. Highs could bump up to the middle 90s for Friday and the weekend due to fewer storms.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The rinse and repeat forecast continues this week. Emphasis on the rinse part. Rain chances remain high as it’ll be another day with a 60% storm threat into this afternoon, that goes up to a 70% coverage on Thursday. Any storm activity will be capable of heavy rains, gusty winds and dangerous lightning. Late week into the weekend we should see a noticeable drop in our storm coverage.

Texas keeps on giving. Another big storm complex is moving into western LA this morning. Expect more widespread storms today and again Friday for a good chunk of the state. The biggest threats will be heavy rains, gusty winds and dangerous lightning. #lawx https://t.co/S0A5m2hcpH
