FLINT, Mich. (WNEM) - Genesee County was not spared from Mother Nature’s wrath, and for one Flint woman, the cost of cleanup is too much to bear. DeEtta Bright, a mother of four, lives on Buckingham Avenue and tells TV5 that a massive tree fell right at her front door when storms blew through mid-Michigan late Thursday night. “It was like this loud noise, like a demolition, like somebody blowing a building up,” Bright said. She believes lightning caused the tree to split.

FLINT, Mich. (WNEM/Gray News) - An animal control center in Michigan is asking for help after a dog was found wounded in a ditch. Genesee County Animal Control says the dog, now named Toaster, was brought into the shelter last week after he was found abandoned on the side of the road in Flint Township. “He is super cute. He’s on the smaller side and he’s super sweet, so we’re hoping to get him out of here today,” said Hannah Peterson, the shelter’s social media manager.
