1 INTRODUCTION Emerging as a discrete concept in the late 1990s, ‘workplace incivility’ is defined as low intensity deviant behaviour with an ambiguous intent to damage the target, which breaks the norms of mutual respect in the workplace (Andersson & Pearson, 1999). Uncivil behaviours are characteristically rude and discourteous, revealing a lack of respect towards others. Incivility is different from bullying.

ABSTRACTPeople often form strong emotional attachments with their companion animals. When this relationship is threatened by forced separation, people may take risks to their safety and wellbeing to protect and stay with their companion animal. This scoping review maps concepts, evidence, and impacts of forced separation between people and their companion animals in the categories of domestic violence, homelessness, and natural disasters.
