AbstractTargeting the metabolic dependencies of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells is a promising therapeutical strategy. In particular, the cysteine and methionine metabolism pathway (C/M) is significantly altered in AML cells compared to healthy blood cells. Moreover, methionine has been identified as one of the dominant amino acid dependencies of AML cells.

IntroductionAcute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a malignant tumor with the highest morbidity, accounting for approximately 25% of cancer diagnoses in children under the age of 15 years (1). With therapeutics’ development, pediatric ALL’s long-term survival rate has reached more than 90%. However, nearly 10%–20% of ALL children relapse after initial complete remission. The mechanism of relapse susceptibility of pediatric ALL is still undiscovered.
