The Martin County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) is conducting a death investigation after a man was found dead along Martin Highway Saturday night. Officials said that at around 10 p.m. Saturday, they found a man in his late 30s lying "unresponsive and covered in blood" along the 26000 block of County Road 714 (Martin Highway). Deputies said they are treating the case as a homicide. The name of the victim has not been released.

A student was arrested Monday at a school in St. Lucie County after a loaded firearm was found inside a backpack, deputies said. According to a sheriff’s office Facebook post, two students at Fort Pierce Westwood Academy were involved in a “school administrative investigation” conducted by a dean. During the investigation, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office School Resource deputies were present, standing by and observing.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. — Nurses are demanding answers following an arrest made Monday at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Behavioral Health Center. Sophea Choun, 40, is facing a battery charge after he's accused of striking a nurse while a patient at the center. According to the report, Choun became upset during the admission process. and then hit the nurse in the face when they tried to handle him. It's the second arrest at that same clinic this year.
