By: Bill KingThis week, the Congres- sional Budget Office (CBO) once again reduced its population projections for the U.S. for 2025-2055. Last year, in its 30-year forecast, the CBO had projected that the U.S. population would be about 383 million by 2054. This week’s projection lowered the 2055 projection to 372 million, about a 2.8% decrease. If the CBO is correct, the U.S. population will grow by about 22 million or 6% (350MM→372MM) over the next thirty years.

On Monday, September the 30th former President James Earl Carter turned 100 years old, and became the first centennial President. On Sunday, December 29th, 2024, God called President Carter home. What a God we serve! Almost two years ago medical professionals placed President Carter in hospice care and declared that he had two weeks to live. President Carter spiritually understood that death and life are in the power of the tongue. More importantly, death is swallowed up in victory in God.

But by the late 1990s, the growth rate began to noticeably slow, eventually falling to under .5% annually. Public school enrollment peaked in 2019 at 50.8 million. During the pandemic, parents pulled about 1.5 million children out of public schools. For the most part, those children do not appear to have returned.

Hubbard studied at the University of Michigan starting in 1921, and the following year he won the first of six straight AAU long jump titles. He also won the AAU triple jump in 1922 and 1923 and at the NCAA he won the 100-yard dash in 1925 and the long jump in 1923.
