    ‍DALLAS — Today, in 1934, the Douglas DC-2 operated its maiden flight. In command was Douglas Test Pilot Carl Cover. The DC-2 was a larger, re-engined development of the DC-1. Douglas had developed the latter following a Transcontinental & Western Air (TWA) request. After six months of testing, the manufacturer modified the aircraft, and TWA ordered 20, becoming the launch customer. When it entered service with TWA on May 18, it became very popular with airlines and passengers.

    DALLAS — International Airlines Group (IAG), the parent company of British Airways (BA), has ordered 53 new aircraft needed to meet demand after profits almost tripled at the start of 2025. International Airlines Group (IAG) has ordered the jets to pump up its medium-term long-haul fleet. The order consists of 21 Airbus A330-900neo and 32 Boeing 787-10 jets. The Airbus aircraft are destined for IAG's Iberia (IB), Aer Lingus (EI), and LEVEL (LL) brands.

    ‍DALLAS – Breeze Airways (MX), the premium leisure carrier known for its “Seriously Nice” service, is expanding its Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) offering with new nonstop routes to Akron-Canton, Ohio, and Wilmington, N.C., beginning this November. Service to Wilmington will operate on Mondays and Fridays starting November 7. Akron-Canton flights will run Wednesdays and Saturdays, with BreezeThru (no plane change) service on Mondays and Fridays beginning November 5.
