    Chiara Beyer, an American University sophomore, missed three weeks of classes after being hospitalized for a kidney infection. “It was such a surreal experience,” Beyer said. “When you’re fainting multiple times a day and you’re trying to figure out what’s going on, but you’re also paying so much money to go to school. It’s very surreal.”While hospitalized, Beyer was diagnosed with COVID-19, which made her unable to return to AU as she had planned.
